Trunki can be carried by the handles, or pulled by the parent or kids themselves and of course they are made as a ride on.

When you’re back from your holidays it will still be a great toy for at home and can be used for sleepovers too.

The Cons of Trunki

  • Children might need help opening Trunki as the catches are a bit too hard to press (depending on age of child)
  • As it is a clam design, beware when packing so that items won’t fall out when opening

If you want your Trunki to last longer, make sure not to check it, but use it as carry-on luggage only. Also don’t fill up more than 50kgs/110lbs.

Carry On Size

The Trunki is hand luggage approved for a number of airlines in the US and overseas (Ryanair, Easyjet, Thomson, First Choice, Flybe, Jetstar, Rex, Qantas, Virgin, Tiger).

Size: 46 x 21 x 31 cm

Weight: 1.7kg / 3.8lb

For a longer durability Trunki is recommended to be used as hand luggage, as checked luggage is many times treated quite roughly. It is also recommended not to exceed 50kgs / 110 lbs for contents.

  1. Hi Petra,

great post! My gran daughter, Nyah, has one of these and absolutely loves it. She travels to visit us from Melbourne up to the Gold Coast often and always has her trusty Trunki Ride on Suitcase!

Yes they are nice and sturdy and hers must be 4 years old now and no real signs of wear and tear.

    Highly recommend them, thanks again,

    Kev

  2. Glad to know that Trunki ride on is designed for kids and most importantly, that it is convenient for long distance travels.
The 5 year guarantee given is a long haul and I’m sure people willing to buy it will be more excited.
As they are designed in the UK, wondering whether they can be purchased online or through Amazon?
    Looking forward for more updates.

    1. Yes, they are great and the 5 year guarantee just shows how confident they are in their product. Yes, you can easily click on either of the two Trunki images to find out where to buy them at a great price!

  3. Good lord these are so cool! I will have to buy one or two or maybe more for my kids. I’m going to be father of the year. Thanks for sharing those!

  4. Oh wow I have to be honest, my kids are now adults but I would definitely buy one of these for me 🙂 These are so cute and just perfect for kids and some adults hahaha. I’ve heard about them, that’s why I had to search for them, but have never seen anything like them before. Thank you so much for bringing them to my attention.

  5. These things are brilliantly designed, they can basically be used as a ride on toy but also have practical uses as a suitcase as well. This also seem like a great Christmas gift I could get my cousin for her daughter who’s turning 7 years old. Is there a recommended age limit to these suitcases? I looked them up on Amazon and they’re not too expensive, I’m definitely going to check them out.

    1. If you click on the image of the Trunki you like best, it’ll take you right to the best price 🙂 And no, they don’t come with any age restrictions. In fact, I had a lady say today she might get one for herself…

  6. I loved all the Trunki design. The video you posted is so funny. I wonder to know that if do you really think it supports up 50kgs/110lbs? it looks small, I think 50 kgs is too much. Any way is a great option for kids, I am sure all kids will want to carry on their luggage 🙂 and they can have it as a toy.

  7. Wow what a great idea. When my kids were young getting through the airport was an ordeal. I love the way you provided concise explanations on the pro’s and con’s. I know if my kids were younger I would have one for each of them.

Is there an option to get them customized to my own design? Lets say I wanted to present one to each child of the parent that work for me but want it in my companies colors?

  8. I’ve been looking for a ride on suitcase for a while and the Trunki seems to be the perfect one! The design is great and I love the concept behind each bag.

They really look cool and a 5year guarantee is proof that the company is proud of its quality. My three year old daughter will be excited to own one of these!

  9. I think these might be the perfect gift for my granddaughters. They are in need of a suitcase and would love something to play with at the same time. Great combination. And when they aren’t traveling they can use it to put their toys in. Love it
