  1. This is so great! I know nothing about picking out quality luggage, so this post was perfect and just what I needed! Do you by any chance have any good recommendations on kids luggage? I need something durable and still good quality, but something along the mid-range as far as pricing.

    Thanks!

  2. Hi, very interesting article. I bought a Chloé suitcase that was not cheap and after the second time I used it the wheels were completely melted due to the friction. I am now wondering if the “Genious-pack” can be shipped to The Netherlands?

    1. Hi Karla,

I’m glad you enjoyed the article. It can be very frustrating when that happens, especially when it was expensive and we expect it to last for a long time.

Yes, the Genius Pack can be delivered to the Netherlands. If you’ve got an Amazon.com account, just follow this link to the Genius Pack G3 22″ Carry-on.

Samsonite and American Tourister both have good quality suitcases, but Samsonite is probably a little better, whereas American Tourister is a bit cheaper. Tough choice! Let me know if you need any more information. Thanks for stopping by 🙂

  6. Wow so amazing post! I didn’t realise there were so many different brands of suitcases, thank you! I’m really liking the Delsey one you showed and the Ricardo Beverly Hills . Are there some bags for kids? I want a durable bag for my son of 12 years. Thank you for the post

    1. there are many many more brands, but i focused on the most popular brands which also offer the best quality and/or the best price. Does your son like Star Wars

  7. Thanks for bringing up al these different options.

A quality suitcase is crucial if you travel a lot. I’ve seen it happen so many times; people with those very cheap suitcases from a brand you’ve never heard of, having all kinds of issues. For example, last week I saw someone rushing up the stairs and the handle of the trolley snapped off. Guess what happened… the trolley rolled of the stairs, smashed to the ground with everything felling out of it…

Personnally, I’ve sticked with Samsonite for over 20 years. Never had any issues. Besides some scratches and a few dents my Lite-Shock Spnner is going strong for over 5 years…

    1. Yes, I think many people are like that. Once you found a brand that works for you, you just stick with it. And Samsonite is definitely one of the most reliable ones.
